Our Story

ROHEI was formed by a group of friends who just wanted to work together. Out of their varied strengths, interests, and experiences emerged a common heart as training practitioners: being shepherds to the workforce. ROHEI is based on the Hebrew word ro-ee, which means “to shepherd.” We are learning and development consultants devoted to bringing hope, joy, courage, and purpose to the global workforce.

It all started in December 2005
Feeling that she would like to devote more time to the young, Rachel left her role as Vice President after 11 years of consulting. She turned away lucrative job offers, gave away suits and decided to focus on Trybe, a not-­for-­profit youth development organization she helped start in 2001.

Inspired learning experiences

Over the next 2 years, with the youth work successfully expanding overseas, having established Trybe in Thailand, she was happy in her new position and would have been contented to retire in youth work. But her friends constantly nudged her to start something so that they could work together.

After continued persuasion and some wise counsel from respected advisors (not the same friends), Rachel started ROHEI Corporation in 2007.

Work officially started on the 1st of April 2007. With the focused resolve of mountain climbers navigating the majestic expanse of the unchartered wilderness (minus the panic of impending death from running out of food and other essential supplies), the group of friends gathered to explore what they could meaningfully put together in terms of real value as a business.

Over the next four years, the team explored an eclectic mix of work from starting a plumbing school for a leading SME in Singapore, residential leadership programs for tertiary level students to business process reengineering and strategic planning for MNCs and government agencies.

While all the work could be considered as successful given the steady stream of referrals that came in, the most accolades were consistently given for the impactful experiences in the training programs that we ran.

The team has expanded steadily and the focus is now very clear: our biggest contribution to any organization is our ability to craft learning experiences that leave a lasting impact. We aim to equip and upskill, to challenge limiting mindsets, to restore hope and build courage and, God ­willing, change lives.

Today, ROHEI exists to Create Inspired Learning Experiences. It’s this pragmatic idealism that continues to place people at the core of our business, whether it’s the staff or the clients that we get to work with. It’s not just about work, it’s about our lives as a whole. We’ve found that if our people grow, so too will the business they engage in. And as we live and work with hope, joy, courage, and purpose, we believe those we serve will catch it too.

As a business, we believe that human dignity and wholeness translate into results at the workplace. If these are steadfastly held on to and these kinds of relationships are formed, performance and profitability will naturally follow.

Youth-empowering

Our internship programs allow us to influence the youth and let them experience what it means to be a values and relationship driven workplace.

Leveraging creativity

We use creative communication to share what we’ve learned and what we believe in. To encourage learners to pursue growth, to live with passion and purpose. Cozeh, our creative team, proclaims uplifting news and tells inspiring stories through words and images, ebooks and videos, that bring hope and courage.

Sharing the value of education

The ROHEI Foundation is an active fund giving to causes that are close to us. It serves to provide support and opportunity to those who would otherwise not have the means.

As a learning and development consultancy, we recognize what education can do for the next generation and for individuals growing up in poverty. Real Life Foundation in Manila is an example of an organization close to our hearts. They provide scholarships and mentorship for those would otherwise have no chance of obtaining a university degree or graduating from high school.
