Why ROHEI Certification?

Credentials Matter

I worked with a large oil and gas company in Malaysia, collaborating with the CEO of their leadership centre. He was very intentional about creating a coaching culture within the organization, and he successfully managed to do so.

However, when he eventually retired, he came to me and said, "Simon, I certified all my people and did a wonderful job, but you know what? I forgot to certify myself. Now that I’m retiring, I realize I don’t have the credentials to continue the good work I’ve been doing. I need a certification to show that I’m just as qualified, even though I was the CEO of a leadership centre."

This experience showed me that while having the skills of coaching is crucial, certification is equally important.

Beyond Test-Based Learning

There are many coaching schools and several coaching associations that certify coaches, and I would say that all of them are good. They all have standards, but there are clear distinctions between them. The programme we are offering with ROHEI is a little bit different, because it not just test-based.

Craft Your Own Coaching Model

The ROHEI Coaching Certification programme offers participants the opportunity to craft their own coaching models. They can learn from others and different schools of thought, but they also have the flexibility to develop their own unique coaching approach, integrating the various techniques they've learned.

Build Confidence for Both Coach and Client

Yes, it actually builds your confidence. Very often, when a prospective client meets with a coach, within five to ten minutes of the conversation, the coach's credibility becomes evident. Certification increases the likelihood that the client will feel comfortable and say, "Okay, I feel confident with this particular coach, and I'm going to go with them."
